The Role
Reporting to the Global CEO, we are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to work across our UK and US studios, on a fixed term basis. This is a leadership role within the Finance Team, in which you will be accountable for the Finance Team’s efficient operation and continuous improvement. You will lead the organisation’s global Finance function and ensure that stakeholders across the organisation are provided with a high-quality business partnering service, whilst leading on accurate reporting.
This role is a key member of the board meetings and Senior Leadership Team (SLT), responsible for ensuring that all information is accurately reflected in regular financial reporting, providing valuable insight into future projects and strategic direction.
Tasks
Board & Senior Leadership Team
- Accountable for the accuracy and ensuring that all data that contributes to the monthly reporting is accurate
- Ownership of Month End close, including full preparation of consolidated reports for board packs with insightful commentary
- Reviewing board decisions with financial justification
- Ongoing oversight, final approval of Budget changes and high level decisions, with support from the Finance Administrator
- Managing all aspects of the Financial reporting processes
- Weekly Aged Debtors updates
- Weekly CashFlow updates
- Monthly approval of UK & US Payroll
Annual Tasks
- Preparing annual accounts and tax returns, R&D data and P11D’s with external accountants
- Preparation of the annual Budget
- Providing support in the renewals of Business Insurances
- Overseeing Annual Company Salary review
Projects
- Regular meetings with Project Managers provide financial support on projects
- Tracking percentage complete targets for revenue recognition
- Invoicing of projects at either percentage or stage completion
Oversight & General
- Providing continuous Financial support to other departments
- Prioritizing ad hoc request from CEO
- Management of Financial Administrator
- Approval of Bi-weekly payment runs, ad hoc payments & Budget expenditure
- Maintaining relationships with Clients & Suppliers
- Acting as the main point of contact for any Financial related issues or queries
- Liaising with People Manager to forecast recruitment costs
- Skills & Experience
- CIMA or ACCA qualification in accounting
- 5 years of experience in a business or finance environment
- Extensive management experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of employment law and legislation
- Excellent influencing and general communication skills
- Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
- A confident and inclusive team player
